The Lady was a Cat
Posted on 05 February 2010
I did this drawing one day when I was imagining being able to move like a cat. So I visualized shape-shifting into one. While I drew this, I was feeling a flexible catness, and then I realized that just thinking of a cat would send energy catword, and I decided a cat would know this. The cat would feel the energy of the thought, see the aura of energy come toward it, and consequently feel the rush of “other” upon it, and be annoyed. This is why I gave the cat an irritated expression. Cats are sometimes seen as masters of the dark arts, as wicked and sneaky, cunning and selfish. I dream about cats often, but they are more bringers of enlightenment when I’ve dreamed of them. (see Illuminara entry from August 29, 2009, “What the Cat Knew: Chakra Dream”–part one and two) I don’t own a cat now because we’re all allergic. But a black and white one comes ’round often, hunting. And she’s very cunning to be sure.

This sketch is certainly “catlike” — and the cat’s expression is exactly what every cat I’m around gives me! Perhaps these cats sense my negative thoughts toward them — sorry cat lovers, but for some reason, I have a dislike for cats. Great sketches! Mom
I don’t know I often feel like a cat. I can relate more with my cats but I do love my dogs/
We have a lot of black and white cats in our neigbhorhood. Red cats according to ancient folklore are supposed to be “lucky”.
Love the transformative exercise-would you mind if I tried it on my blog sometime?

I think that you are on to what cats are all about. They seemed to connect very much to energies all around them. Having a cat for the first time in my life has made me appreciate their qualities. A very unique sketch – realy like it.
